Acupuncture for Chronic Headache

More than 45 million Americans (one in six) suffer from chronic headaches, 20 million of whom are women. Scientific research shows that acupuncture can be more effective than medication in reducing the severity and frequency of chronic headaches. 

Chronic headache is including, but not limited migraine and tension headache. They are often induced by emotions, cold and over exertion etc. most of American patients take medication, pain killers such as Tylenol, Advil and Ibuprofen. The headache can be relived temporally at beginning. When they use the medication for a long time, the pain can not be relied and the side effects have appeared gradually. The problems of stomach, Liver and kidney will be involved.

Anthony, one of my patient, he had has chronic headache for 20 years. The headache comes and goes. It has been worse form two months. All the day he feels headache, severe, dizziness, nausea, restlessness, “I want broke my head sometime” he said. He took a lot of different kind of pain killers. The headache still cannot be reduced. He said that “My stomach is very hurt so much by the pain killer”. He does not want take the medication any more. So he came to my clinic to try acupuncture.

He stopped using all the pain killers and continues Motion Acupuncture treatments for three times once a day. He did not feel any headache without medication in that time.
