Motion Acupuncture for Tapezius and Deltoid Injuries
Lisa, a 28 year old dentist, strained her right shoulder in a basketball event six months ago. It was extremely painful at the time of the sprain. She used ice and received physical therapy, which improved the condition to some extent. After some time, her shoulder pain got worse because she was constantly repeating the same motions when taking care of her patients. In the past month, not only was her pain worse, her shoulder range of motion decreased significantly as well. She cannot raise her right arm straight out without having her scapula moving with the shoulder. This has negatively impacted her job significantly. After examination, she was diagnosed with trapezius and deltoid injuries. You can watch motion acupuncture being performed on her shoulder in the video below. After treatments, her pain was decreased and range of motion was increased.
